Kendal, Warganet — PT PLN (Persero) continues to strengthen its role as a key driver of national economic growth. Through reliable and sustainable electricity supply, PLN affirms that power infrastructure has a real multiplier effect on industrial development and job creation across Indonesia.

This commitment was realized through the signing of a Power Purchase Agreement (PJBTL) between PLN and several industrial customers located in industrial zones in West Java and Special Economic Zones (SEZ) in Central Java, with a total capacity of 1,800 megavolt amperes (MVA) on Wednesday (October 28).

This initiative not only provides stable electricity for industrial areas but also encourages increased investment, job creation, and the growth of supporting sectors such as logistics, services, and manufacturing.

“Electricity is the main driver of the economy. With stronger and more reliable power infrastructure, industries can grow, investments can rise, and more jobs will be created,” said PLN President Director Darmawan Prasodjo.

“PLN is committed to ensuring that electricity becomes a catalyst for inclusive and sustainable economic growth,” he added.

Meanwhile, President Director of PT United Power Indonesia, Jony Oktavian, stated that PLN’s reliability plays a vital role in sustaining the growth of industrial zones and SEZs in Indonesia.

“We would like to thank PLN for continuously facilitating electricity supply in SEZs. Everyone works hand in hand with PLN to deliver the best for Indonesia,” he said.

In addition to strengthening industrial competitiveness, PLN is also driving an energy transition by increasing the share of renewable energy in the national power system, in line with the direction of the Electricity Supply Business Plan (RUPTL) 2025–2034.

“Going forward, PLN’s power system will become greener, more reliable, and more efficient. We are committed to ensuring that clean energy supply remains not only environmentally friendly but also affordable for both the public and business sectors,” Darmawan concluded.
