Gondomanan, Warganet – Taman Pintar Yogyakarta recorded a significant surge in visitors during the 2026 mid-year school holiday. Between June 27 and July 12, the educational tourism destination welcomed 90,994 visitors, averaging 5,687 people per day, marking an increase compared to the same holiday period in 2025.
According to the official website of the Yogyakarta City Government, Head of Cooperation and Marketing at Taman Pintar Yogyakarta, Nia Dianti, said the increase was largely driven by a growing number of family visitors, despite a decline in group visits.
“Compared to the 2025 school holiday period, visitor numbers increased this year. Although group visits declined, the number of family visitors showed significant growth,” Nia said in an interview on Monday (July 27, 2026).
She explained that most family visitors came from outside the Special Region of Yogyakarta (DIY), indicating that Taman Pintar remains one of Indonesia’s favorite educational tourism destinations for families.
To provide a more engaging experience during the holiday season, Taman Pintar introduced several special attractions, including appearances by the Taman Pintar mascot Tepi, Baby Dino, and a Reptile Show, offering both entertainment and educational value for children.
“Regarding parking facilities, Taman Pintar does not have its own managed parking area. Visitors use public parking spaces available around the surrounding area,” Nia explained.
She added that the Oval-Kotak Building continues to be the most popular attraction, featuring a variety of interactive science exhibits enjoyed by both children and adults.
“Throughout the year, Taman Pintar’s peak visitor periods usually occur during school holidays and the Christmas-New Year holiday season. Visitor numbers rise significantly during those periods compared to regular days,” she added.
Looking ahead to the year-end holiday season, Taman Pintar is preparing several improvements, including the addition of a new zone in the Oval-Kotak Building and the refurbishment of the Playground area to provide visitors with an even more enjoyable learning and play experience.
“We plan to add a new zone in the Oval-Kotak Building and refresh the Playground area in preparation for the year-end holidays,” Nia concluded.
