Bandung, Warganet – Bandung City’s emergency Panic Button system has received positive feedback from users after demonstrating fast responses during real-life emergencies. According to the official website of the Bandung City Government, the facility has proven effective in helping the public report urgent incidents in the Asia Afrika area.
One of its users, 29-year-old photographer Rizki Maulana Hermawan, shared that he had activated the Panic Button on two separate occasions. The first was to report a pickpocketing incident, while the second involved a traffic accident.
“I’ve used it twice—once for a pickpocketing case and once for a traffic accident,” Rizki said on Monday (July 27, 2026).
Rizki explained that after pressing the emergency button, officers immediately established two-way communication to assess the situation before dispatching assistance.
“They usually respond by asking, ‘How can we help? This is the Bandung City Transportation Agency,’” he recalled.
He noted that the Panic Button is not only useful for reporting crimes and traffic accidents but can also be used in other emergency situations, such as when a child goes missing in a crowded public area.
According to Rizki, the system offers a faster and more practical way to seek help compared with visiting the nearest police station or searching for officers on the ground.
“It is very helpful. The response is much faster than reporting directly to the nearest police station,” he said.
Rizki added that the Panic Button has improved the sense of security for residents and visitors in the Asia Afrika district. He hopes the facility will continue to be well maintained and used responsibly so that emergency reports can always receive prompt and effective responses.
